Email Settings
On this page, you can configure your email settings. Do this by following the steps below:

Log in to NAKIVO Backup & Replication.

Click Settings in the left pane of the product.

Go to the General tab.

Click Email Settings to configure email settings on the page that opens.

To set email settings, fill out the fields in the Email settings section:

Authentication method: Select the authentication method from the dropdown.

SMTP traditional authentication: Select the traditional email authentication to connect your mail server, then configure the following parameters. See also Using Email with Two-Factor Authentication.
Important
If you use an email with two-factor authentication, grant access permissions to NAKIVO Backup & Replication via your account security settings and generate a unique password. When configuring email setting of the product, enter this password in the SMTP password box.-
SMTP server: The address of the server responsible for sending emails.

SMTP username: The username on the server (usually the same as the email username).

SMTP password: Usually the same as the password to your email.

SMTP port: Depends on encryption type.

Google Gmail OAuth 2.0 authentication: Select the Google Gmail OAuth to connect your mail server, then configure the following parameters. For more information, refer to Using Email with Gmail OAuth Authentication.

Client ID: Enter the unique identifier generated in your Google Cloud Console when you create OAuth 2.0 credentials.

Client Secret: Enter the confidential key paired with your Client ID. Click the Sign in with Google to authorize NAKIVO Backup & Replication to access your Gmail account through OAuth 2.0 authentication. Ensure that the credentials are correct and the account is authenticated successfully.

Microsoft 365 OAuth authentication: Select the Microsoft 365 OAuth to connect your mail server and configure the following parameters:

Client ID: Enter the unique identifier generated with your Microsoft 365 account when you create OAuth 2.0 credentials.

Tenant ID: Enter your Tenant ID (your Tenant ID is displayed in the Tenant information section in Microsoft Entra Admin center).

Client Certificate: Choose a saved certificate from the drop-down list to use an existing certificate. If you don’t have any saved certificates or want to generate a new one, click Manage certificates. In the resulting pop-up, you can edit and delete existing certificates, generate new certificates, or import existing certificates.

Client Secret: Select and enter the Client Secret, generated on the Microsoft Azure portal.
Click Authorize now to authorize NAKIVO Backup & Replication to access your Microsoft 365 account through OAuth 2.0 authentication. Ensure that the credentials are correct and the account is authenticated successfully. For more information, refer to Using Email with Microsoft OAuth Authentication.

When Google Gmail OAuth 2.0 authentication or Microsoft 365 OAuth 2.0 authentication is selected as the Authentication method, the Encription field is hiden.

When Google Gmail OAuth 2.0 authentication or Microsoft 365 OAuth 2.0 authentication is selected as the Authentication method, the From field is disabled and and automatically populated with the email address used during authentication.

Encryption: Select the type of encryption:

None: Always use a plaintext connection. Not recommended.

TLS, if possible: Start with plaintext, then use
STARTTLSto switch to secure connection if supported by the server. -
TLS, required: Start with plaintext, then use
STARTTLSto switch to secure connection; drop the connection if not supported by the server. -
SSL, required: Use the SSL-encrypted connection.

From: Specify the sender email address

To: Specify the receiver email address

Click Send Test Email to verify that the settings are correct.

Click Apply to save the settings.

Alternatively, click Discard Changes to discard any changes you have made to the email configuration.

Optionally, click Reset Settings to return all the settings to their default values.
