Microsoft 365 Backup

With NAKIVO Backup & Replication, you can back up and recover data from Microsoft Exchange Online, OneDrive for Business, SharePoint Online, and Microsoft Teams.

You can back up items such as user and group mailboxes, drives, sites, teams, and more directly to cloud storage, local storage, CIFS or NFS shares, or deduplication appliances. You can also send copies of Microsoft 365 backups to these destinations as well as to tape for air-gapped storage. When recovery is required, data can be recovered to Microsoft 365 accounts, including mailboxes, emails, contacts, calendar events, files, folders, sites, document libraries, lists, channels, tabs, posts, and other items.

A common misconception among Microsoft 365 users is that data stored in the cloud is automatically protected and does not need to be backed up. Under Microsoft’s shared responsibility model, Microsoft is responsible for service availability and for the physical and virtual infrastructure. However, protecting data beyond basic geo-redundancy—which is not equivalent to backup—is the responsibility of the customer.

To address this responsibility, NAKIVO Backup & Replication provides Backup for Microsoft 365 to ensure that application data remains accessible and recoverable at all times. By backing up Microsoft 365 data, you ensure that if data loss occurs, required items can be recovered easily to their original location or to a custom destination.
